For almost a decade, Emess has been using the graphic treasure trove of commercially available banknotes as an artistic resource. In colourful print collages, he combines portraits of international currencies with elements of silkscreen, stencil, painting and graffiti and unwinds an electrifying network of multi-layered allusions and associations.
The series “Make the Money” consists of 32 different portraits of international personalities. There is an edition of 14 completely different copies of each head. Each one is unique, hand-printed and -sprayed in silkscreen and stencil, 50 x 60 cm on recycled 350 gram paperback cardboard.
The portraits shown here are therefore only examples, ask us for a specific portrait and get an overview of the still available unique pieces of this edition.
